How To Clean Porcelain Tiles
- Remove debris from the surface of the floor with a brush or microfiber flat mop. This will ensure that any large particles of dirt are not worked into the surface of the tiles that could scratch them.
- Wipe away the dirty cleaning residue with clean warm water.
- For really tough stains, sprinkle the wet tile and grout with baking soda and scrub them with a cloth. Rinse with a mop dampened with the vinegar solution.
- Clean using a suitable acid detergent, which can be applied by hand (with a clean cloth) or with a machine (a single-brush machine with medium, non-abrasive bristles or a high-pressure water cleaner)
- Finally, dry the tiles with a clean towel or a microfiber cloth so avoid streaking.
What not do while cleaning of Porcelain Tiles
- Try not to apply steel fleece or over the top scouring powder or different abrasives that can scratch the completion of the tile. These are for obstinate, hard to evacuate stains. Not standard cleaning.
- Do not regularly use ammonia or bleach based cleaning agents as they will discolor your grout.
- Never use a product that contains harmful chemicals such as ammonia or bleach (or any type of acid-based cleanser). These types of chemicals can alter the color of the tiles and/or the grout.
